The GoodFit Philosophy

At GoodFit, we think the world has been doing fitness wrong. For most of us, it’s not about having a “six-pack,” being able to lift twice our body weight over our head, or looking like the Photoshopped celeb on the cover of this month’s Cosmo. It’s about lifting our kids over our head. It’s about getting out of bed and feeling fresh instead of creaky. It’s about being able to go for a hike or a run on the beach, or spend a long day chasing the grandkids, without feeling exhausted the next day.

For too long we’ve allowed pop culture to dictate what “good” fitness looks like. Here’s what it’s really about: enjoying the goodness in life. We are created to enjoy goodness, and we can do that better when we are healthy and fit.

The musk of old sweat and cleaning products isn’t for everybody. That’s why GoodFit takes you out of the gym and into the fresh air! Wherever you are in SLO County, be it Atascadero, Paso Robles, Templeton, or San Luis Obispo itself, you know we’re lucky to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. With a temperate climate year-round, it only makes sense to get away from the four walls of the gym and get your daily dose of Vitamin D.

Too often we feel alone. We feel alone in our unfitness, alone in our guilt about it, and lonely when we decide to get fit one trudging, thankless step at a time. We believe it’s not good for us to be alone—you don’t have to do it alone! Come together, be encouraged, and let us guide you towards accomplishing your fitness goals.

Weekly Workouts & Times

Each workout is 45 minutes long. Your first class is free. Drop-in classes are $12/session. Unlimited classes for $75/mo. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Contact us and let us know!

We’re always looking to start new classes and expand to new locations. Interested in small group training with your friends, office, or for a special event (think upcoming wedding or beach vacation)? We can help with that too!

WHY BOOT CAMP? Don’t let the term ‘boot camp’ scare you. We incorporate body weight and plyometric exercises along with running and stretching to get you a workout that will challenge your fitness level and ability. You can expect every class to be different, but each one will leave you both sweaty and encouraged as you pursue your strength and conditioning goals. We call it ‘boot camp’ but no one is going to yell at you... unless you want us to!

WHAT TO BRING: You might consider bringing a yoga mat or towel and a bottle of water. If you forget, don’t worry, we’ll have extra!

Owner. Trainer. Encourager.

As the creator and owner of GoodFit, I want my clients to feel welcomed, encouraged, and challenged. Whether you are a workout newbie, a seasoned athlete, or someone who wants to recover your former fitness level, I will learn what you need and tailor workouts accordingly. I love fitness because it allows me to connect with and encourage so many different types of fun people.

I live in Atascadero with my lovely wife and two young boys. Originally from Clovis, California, I went to Cal Poly for my undergraduate degree and then taught PE classes for SLO elementary schools. My wife and I moved to the East Coast for a few years, and now we are happy to be back on the amazing Central Coast.

Prior to starting GoodFit, I taught boot camp classes and worked as a personal trainer in Washington, DC. I've also worked as a youth and families pastor on the Central Coast.
